Member Spotlight- Sandy

Hi, I’m Sandy, I’ve been working out at Oak Street Studios for one year. When I was pregnant with my daughter I gained quite a bit of weight. After I had her I really struggled with making time for myself, for making me a priority. Last year I recognized that I needed to do something to change that. I tried several of the big gyms and group classes and never felt like I belonged. I struggled with motivation and accountability and eventually gave up. In August of last year, I heard about Oak Street Studio from a friend and decided to try a Barre class. From the first class at Oak Street Studios I knew I had found something different. Jeannee and Michelle are so helpful, motivating, and kind. I love the bond that I have made with the other students and the accountability and motivation that comes with small group classes. I have made myself a priority over the last year with finding my place at Oak Street Studio. I never thought I would be the type of person to look forward to working out, but now I am. Over the last year, I have lost almost twenty pounds by making myself a priority. I make a commitment to myself to workout several times a week and I actually enjoy! I mix it up with Barre and TRX and I love that every class is different and that Jeannee and Michelle know just how to keep pushing me forward in this journey. I am a huge advocate of self-care, and Oak Street Studio is my self-care. I love every workout that I have taken here, the instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I always feel like I am Getting a good workout and really appreciate that they push me to meet goals and be my best. I have tried all the different classes they offer, Barre, TRX, Reformer, Mat Pilates and PiYo and they are great for all fitness levels. The community they have built is wonderful, I’ve never committed to any workout for this long and I credit Oak Street Studios for that! 

Sandy is an inspiration to all of us at the studio. She consistently works out 3-5x per week and puts in the work when she’s not at the studio by eating healthy and using her lunch break to take walk.
